Things to See & Do

There is so much to see and do, it would take a book to show everything but here are a couple of places/activities worth checking out.

Seaweed Tours https://seatours.com

This is a fun little bus tour, operated by a local woman with lots of knowledge of the area and history. Located on the Lunenburg waterfront, you can hop on or book a seat in advance. She advised that she is also a pet friendly bus and does group tours if  interested.

Salty Dog Tours saltydogtours.com

Located at Oak Island, this is a lovely tour around the famous Oak Island on a very comfortable and sheltered pontoon boat.  The boat captain has good local knowledge and a few sea tales  to tell.  You can see the working going on at Oak island from the  boat.

Trot in Time Carriage Rides – trotintime.ca

Situated on the Lunenburg waterfront, this is a delightful way to view the Unesco World  Heritage town of Lunenburg. Your carriage is drawn by a lovely Shire or Clydesdale Horse and you are given a good history lesson on this historic fishing town.  Tours operate all day long  and booking in advance is usually not required.

Outdoor patios in Nova Scotia are dog friendly unless specifically posted. Here is a super spot on the Lunenburg Waterfront where you can take your dog, have a coffee or a locally brewed beer or cider, a super pizza and other goodies and sit back and  enjoy!

Lightship Brewery – lightshipbrewery.ca

Mahone Bay has several restaurants and cafes as well as a local brewery (Saltbox Brewery) with outside tables (also dog friendly).             There are several restaurants in Mahone Bay offering dining in and outside.
